We run three licensed residential care homes: Nurturehood in Concord, and Chateau Senior Living's The Villa and The Gardens in Auburn. Between them, 31 beds. Not a wing. Not a floor. Houses, where the largest has room for fifteen and the smallest for six.
We have three homes because families have different needs: the company and grounds of The Villa, the downtown setting and extra daily support of The Gardens, or the six-bed intimacy of Nurturehood, with a patio door in every room.
All three homes are owned by a hospice and palliative care nurse with 9 years of caring for older adults, who trains our caregivers to notice the small changes early.

Because We Care Like Family
We know you have many choices when it comes to residential care for an aging parent or spouse. What makes a small home different is arithmetic: with six to fifteen residents rather than eighty, our caregivers learn each person's routine, their history, what settles them on a hard afternoon and what makes them laugh.
Each of our residents has unique needs. Some like breakfast at six. Some like it at ten. Each person has a care plan built around how they actually live, and we adjust it as needs change, instead of fitting everyone into one schedule.

Our Homes
Beautiful, Spacious Homes, Not Institutions
Each of our homes is a real house, kept beautifully and staffed around the clock. In Concord, every room opens onto a safe patio. In Auburn, The Villa is gated with a proper common room, and The Gardens has fenced gardens front and back in the center of town. The scale is deliberate: a resident is never one of eighty.
Visiting pets are welcome, provided they are vaccinated and leashed. Outdoor security cameras, 24/7 staffing, and electronic documentation with health monitoring alerts keep the home both homelike and genuinely safe.

Supporting Independence, One Person at a Time
For residents aged 60 and over who need a hand with the activities of daily living, assisted living in our homes means exactly the right amount of support: help with personal hygiene, bathing, mobility and transferring, continence and dietary management, and medication oversight, delivered without taking away what someone can still do themselves.
Housekeeping and laundry are handled. Meals are home-cooked, using fresh, seasonal, local ingredients, with dietary considerations accommodated. Hair and nail services, visiting physicians and beauticians come to the house.
Hospice Experience
Care From Someone Who Has Been There
All three homes are owned by a hospice and palliative care nurse with 9 years of caring for older adults. She trains our caregivers to notice the small changes, a skipped meal, a restless night, a little less steadiness, and to act on them early.
Every home is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and we coordinate with visiting physicians and home health nursing so continuity of care does not fall to the family to manage. Many residents stay with us through the end of life, in the same room, with the same caregivers, and hospice coordinated in the home.

Every Day Brings New Opportunities
Most days there's something going on: exercise, crafts, music, and visitors from the community, with special entertainment throughout the month. Some residents join everything. Some would rather watch from a favorite chair. Both are fine.
